Nancy has been enjoying the riches of Columbia County since 1987, when a fellowship opportunity brought her to the area. Prior to this, Nancy was a busy nurse-midwife and health activist in New York City. Nancy says that her years as a midwife (she's delivered over 1,000 babies) prepared her well for a career in real estate. Both depend on establishing trust with the client, educating the consumer about what to expect and anticipating potential problems.
Prior to becoming a real estate agent in 2005, Nancy worked in public health administration for the NYS Department of Health; served as a consultant to the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation; and was Executive Director of Family Resource Centers of Columbia County--a nonprofit serving families with young children.
Nancy has also raised a kid in the country and knows where to find summer camps, art lessons, playgroups, weekend soccer teams, and a wealth of recreational activities for families to enjoy together. She's passionate about making sure families have access to needed services and currently serves on the Board of Family Resource Centers of Columbia County and the Red Rock Historical Society.
Nancy holds degrees from Manhattanville College, Columbia University, and Harvard's Kennedy School of Government. She is a licensed real estate broker in New York and Massachusetts. Nancy and her husband, Ted Guterman, a Hudson attorney, live in Red Rock, a historic hamlet near the border of New York and Massachusetts.
