One of the oldest towns in Berkshire County, Lanesboro, also known as Lanesborough, is a quiet residential community of about 3,000 people. Lanesboro's population includes full-time and part-time residents. The town is accessible from Boston via Exit 2 on Interstate 90 and from New York City via the Taconic State Parkway. Nineteenth-century American humorist Josh Billings was Lanesboro's most famous resident. The annual Josh Billings RunAground Triathlon is named in his honor.
