A small, predominantly rural and residential town of about 1,500 people, Richmond is located in central Berkshire County just north of West Stockbridge. Richmond borders New York State. Many homeowners are part-time residents from the Boston or New York City areas. From Boston, Richmond lies just north of Exit 1 on Interstate 90. From New York City, Richmond is accessible via the Taconic State Parkway.
