Welcome to Stockbridge

History, nature, and culture live and breathe in Stockbridge, where homeowners walk the same streets as American illustrator and painter Norman Rockwell. Rockwell lived in Stockbridge from 1953 until his death in 1978. Stockbridge residents, including the town police chief, posed for his paintings. Today the Norman Rockwell Museum ranks as one of the leading cultural institutions in the Berkshires. Another top amenity is the beautiful Berkshire countryside that's made Stockbridge a summer resort since the 1850s.
